The Walkmen Kick Off Tour, Rock NPR

With A Hundred Miles Off fresh out of the oven, the Walkmen are keeping themselves at the forefront of our minds by beginning their North American tour today. They are, however, still angry about the theft of their musical gourd last month in Boston, but since they've scheduled a show there at the end of June, the thief can still email istolethegourd@marcata.net with a brief description of the smell of the instrument in the subject line to make good on the band's promise to let him or her play the gourd on stage with them. Their website also promises that instead of pressing charges, they will also "put you on the guest list +1 and give you 2 free Amstel Lights." Classy guys.

For those of us who didn't steal the gourd but still want a little something for free, the band's Thursday show at Washington, DC's 9:30 Club will be broadcast live on the internet, HERE, as part of the NPR Live Concert Series on "All Songs Considered". Unfortunately, NPR requires you to provide your own Amstel Light.
