The Coup Tour Against the War

So the Dixie Chicks aren't ready to make nice and Neil Young wants us to impeach the President. That's all well and good, but Bay Area rap duo the Coup talk the talk and walk the walk. In addition to including songs about world leaders sucking each other off and the Bush administration bringing about the end of the world on their latest album Pick a Bigger Weapon, the Coup are bringing their message directly to the people.

The Coup's current tour is titled the "Not Your Soldier" Tour, after the Not Your Soldier project, which "gives youth the tools we need to stop the military invasion of our schools and our communities," according to their website. As the Coup brings the noise across the country, "tepresentatives will be on hand at the shows to educate the fans about military myths and ways youth can kick military recruiters out of their lives...for good."

Coup main man Boots Riley will not only be joined by activists on the road, but by a full band. His partner in crime, DJ Pam the Funkstress, will not appear at all dates, since she's busy spinning on the radio and at parties, as well as running a restaurant and catering business. Let's hear it for anti-war food!
