Bob Dylan to Release New Album in August

The times, they are a-modernizin'. According to various reports, Bob Dylan's newest record, Modern Times, will see an August 29 release. (Billboard.com says it's his 44th album!) Track titles include "Ain't Talkin'", "Thunder on the Mountain", "Spirit on the Water", "Workingman's Blues", "When the Deal Goes Down", and "Neddy Moore".

Rolling Stone was given a sneak preview of Modern Times, which Dylan produced himself. According to the magazine's website, the record "mixes elements of 2001's Love and Theft - blues variations (think 'Cry a While') and whimsical ballads (think 'Floater') - with the darker, swampier vibe of the Daniel Lanois-produced classics Time Out of Mind and Oh Mercy."

Currently, Dylan has five dates scheduled in Europe, though a summer tour of minor league ballparks with Merle Haggard is in the works.
