Jason Lytle, M. Ward Play TapeOpCon

Hey, step away from the Pro Tools for five seconds and listen up, all you recording/engineering/producing/mixing geeks! TapeOp magazine, the bible for all things studio, will host its fifth annual conference, TapeOpCon 2006, on June 16-18, at the Hotel Congress in Tuscon, Arizona. (It was originally slated to be held in New Orleans this year but was moved after Hurricane Katrina.)

For the recording enthusiasts, the event features a vast array of workshops, exhibitor displays, and panel discussions with studio masters like Steve Albini, Joey Waronker, Don Zientara, Jim Dickinson and, of course, TapeOp's own Larry Crane. Sounds like a good time, no?

Meanwhile, for tape-heads and lay-people alike, TapeOpCon 2006 will also be hosting a series of performances at Club Congress. M. Ward, Friends of Dean Martinez, Norfolk & Western, American Music Club, Cracker, Jason Lytle (formerly of Grandaddy), Jay Bennett, Rebecca Gates, Stan Ridgeway, and others will mix it up during the three-day event. (OK, I'll stop these lame recording studio puns...or at least cut down on their frequency! Ba dum dum.)
