Pitchfork: Blue Cheer Launch U.S. Tour

What a cure for the summertime blues: Legendary proto-metal band Blue Cheer is headed out on their first U.S. time in twenty years. The group, which frequently shows up on those "Heaviest Bands of All Time” lists guitar magazines like to print every once in awhile, embarks on a hefty nationwide jaunt tonight in Washington, DC, with 2/3 of its founding members (Richard "Dickie" Peterson and Paul Whaley) in tow. The trio is scheduled to forge on through the hot months before wrapping up the reunion trek in early August. Dates:
