Joe Strummer DVD Documentary Due in June

One of rock's most endearing legends, Joe Strummer left behind not only an untouchable legacy with the Clash, but also a formidable solo discography when he passed away in 2002 at age 50. In 2001, Strummer released Global a Go-Go with his band the Mescaleros; it would prove to be the last album Strummer put out while still alive.

The 2004 documentary Let's Rock Again!, which chronicles the last 18 months of Strummer's life, including the tour in support of Global, will be released on DVD through Image Entertainment on June 27. It was directed by longtime Strummer friend Dick Rude, and offers an intimate look at the artist through candid interviews and backstage footage. While no bonus footage is included on the DVD, the film itself should prove a powerful enough keepsake for fans, offering a revealing portrait of one of the most humble legends to ever grace a rock revolution.

As Rude explained in a recent press release, "Let's Rock Again! is a story about love, following your passion and never giving up. It is a film made to turn people on and inspire them to seek out the good things in life worth living for. It has been my humble blessing to share Joe Strummer's final message and music with the world and I hope it stirs your soul the way it has done mine."
