Modest Mouse Cancel Shows

Back in the olden days of yore, musicians had something called a "work ethic," and though it's nice to see that Modest Mouse maintains one, we wish it wasn't at the expense of their fans. While some bands keep pushing back their album release dates back (we're looking at you, Outkast) or don't even seem to have any intent to finish their albums (Axl Rose, anyone?), Modest Mouse has postponed their August West Coast mini-tour so that they can stay in the studio and power on through the home stretch for their forthcoming album.

According to a post on their website, the band is holed up in Mississippi, working on the as-yet-untitled with producer Dennis Herring (who manned the boards on Good News for People Who Love Bad News).  Canceled shows after the jump:
