Favourite Sons Sign to Vice

Favourite Sons

In what it's calling the continuation of signing "a spree of critical and public darlings" (better than other kinds of sprees, I guess), Vice Records announced recently that they have signed Brooklyn-via-Philly up-and-comers Favourite Sons.

Ken Griffin (formerly of Rollerskate Skinny) and his four bandmates (ex-members of Aspera) formed the band in winter 2004, releasing a 7" on GSL Records in 2005, followed by the four-song Treason EP earlier this year on the UK's Loog Records. Now the Sons are wrapping up work on their debut LP, Down Beside Your Beauty, which was mixed by Victor Van Vugt (PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Sons & Daughters) and is slated for a September 12 release.

Meanwhile, you can catch them premiering some of their new stuff at a few select shows this summer.
