Antony, Matmos, CocoRosie to Play Benefit

Hey look, it's Antony news day!

Not that we needed any more reasons to love Antony and Matmos, but here's another: on July 26, Antony and the Johnsons, Matmos and CocoRosie will perform at a benefit concert for New York's Ali Forney Center, an emergency housing program for LGBT youth. Established in 2002, the organization is committed to providing residents with a safe living environment and skills for gaining independence. The Center's services include food, medical care, case management, mental health treatment, HIV testing, and assistance in gaining employment and continuing education.

Antony curated the fundraiser, which takes place at Warsaw in Brooklyn. So maybe Matmos will somehow work the sampled sound of pierogies being digested into their performance.

Antony's been a busy boy lately, singing sea chanteys, appearing on records by Matmos, Metallic Falcons, My Robot Friend, and Joan As Policewoman, getting his music on the V for Vendetta soundtrack, and, allegedly, working with Björk on her upcoming album. He's touring Europe this summer and fall.
