Video: Daft Punk: "Electroma" teaser

Imagine a world where everyone wears Daft Punk helmets. Now imagine that world as a movie.

Sorry, Snakes on a Plane, but from the looks of this teaser for our favorite French house duo's latest foray into filmmaking, we've got a new Most Anticipated Movie of 2006.

According to one of Daft Punk's websites, Electroma is "a magical, musical, mythic road movie from Daft Punk." Its synopsis reads, "In a world without men, two robots embark on an odyssey across a stark American landscape of haunting, surreal beauty on a quest to become human."

The robots, however, are not played by Daft Punk members Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel De Homem-Christo (who directed and co-wrote the film). They dudes in the suits are Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich; according to IMDB, they haven't been in anything else.

The soundtrack features music by Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, Curtis Mayfield, Linda Perhacs, Jackson, Carey Frank, Sebastien Tellier, and Mathieu Tonetti...but no dialogue. Ooh, arty.

According to somebody named "Mikehoop3" posting on IMDB, "The film is making a remarkable statement on today's world" and "It raises so many great questions." "We are all robots who sculpt our own plastic faces. We are all wandering robots with no place to fit in."
