Pitchfork: Vetiver Head Out on Tour

Ready for a fun fact that's too obscure to ever weasel its way into any sort of sober conversation? Good. According to the Vetiverse (Andy Cabic & Co.'s official website), "Vetiver is named for an aromatic East Indian grass that grows in California, and their music delivers on the sunny, hazy sweetness the band's name suggests." Fortunately, fans across the continent will soon be able to experience this (likely in conjunction with another type of grass that will also bring a hazy sweetness) starting tonight.

This evening, San Francisco folkies Vetiver will launch their first-ever extensive North American trek. The tour, which supports their recent DiCristina release To Find Me Gone, will run cross-continent through early August.
