Video: Human Television: "In Front of the House"

The music video for Human Television's "In Front of the House" throws me for a bit of a loop. Upon watching it for the first time, all I could think was HIGH SCHOOL FILM FESTIVAL ENTRY. The location of the video shoot (apartment, directly outside apartment), the plot line (people hanging around doing nothing), and the band members' clothes and hair styles (indiemo) fit into the 18-and-under scene perfectly.

But something doesn't fit the puzzle. Instead of focusing on overdoses or frowns or whatever is sad these days, "In Front of the House" appears to be purely nostalgic. Is the band pretending to be a part of the student demographic because they miss their old buddies and carefree lifestyle? Is the video some sort of parody or critique of the billions of amateur film efforts out there?

Of course, there's also a third option-- maybe it just sucks.
