Infinite Mixtape #27: Junior Boys: "In the Morning"

Infinite Mixtape #27: Junior Boys: "In the Morning" Already awarded a five-star review in our tracks section, this track from the forthcoming second Junior Boys full-length, So This Is Goodbye (August 17th; Domino), is a clear shoo-in for inclusion on the Infinite Mixtape. Featuring collaboration from Mouse on Mars' Andi Tomi, "In the Morning"'s hushed vocals, arpeggiated keyboard, snapback percussion, and unshakably addictive melody make it an obvious standout on a record packed with them.

Pitchfork's Mark Pytlik: "Everything overlaps seamlessly-- the verse and the chorus blissfully interchangeable, all pushed forward by that rhythm-- up until around the three minute mark, when things swell to a sudden build and the Boys introduce a shrill firecracker synth riff... As simple sonic moments go, its one of the most thrilling you’ll hear this year. As for the track, same-- five minutes rarely rush by this quickly."
