Pitchfork: Man Man Video to Appear on Nickelodeon

Man Man is for the children! On August 28, Man Man's video for "Engwish Bwudd", from their Ace Fu release Six Demon Bag, will be broadcast on Nicktoons sometime between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. as part of their "Nicktoons Shorts Festival". (FYI, Nicktoons is the Nickelodeon spinoff channel where kids and pot smokers can watch cartoons like "Jimmy Neutron", "The Ren and Stimpy Show", "Spongebob Squarepants", and, uh, "The Angry Beavers" without interruption from either Mr. Wizard or Dobie Gillis.)

The video, created by director/animator Lindsay Kovnat and five other animators, features stop motion and digital animation, as well as such images as an eyeball showerhead and a circus elephant being mauled and eaten. It was selected along with 34 others (out of a pool or 400 or so films) for the festival. "They didn't ask me to edit anything but when I sent it in the version I sent I bleeped out the 'fuck,'" said Kovnat. "Thats the only thing." Hey, if "The Angry Beavers" flies with the kids, a little cussing probably wouldn't have hurt them.

As previously announced, Man Man will be playing at the Pitchfork Music Festival this weekend. As previously unannounced, the festival will be my tenth time seeing Man Man live in less than a year.
