Stars Get Remixed, Millan Tours
Since everybody and their mom has a remix album these days, why not Stars? According to the group's label, Arts&Crafts, Do You Trust Your Friends, a "track for track interpretation" of Stars' last album, 2004's Set Yourself on Fire, featuring the interpretive skills of Broken Social Scene, Metric, the Dears, the Elected, and Junior Boys, among others, is due out in the fall.
And following the release of her country-tinged solo album Honey From the Tombs in May, Stars frontwoman Amy Millan is saddling up for a tour of her native Canada, making stops at the Hillside Festival in Guelph, Ontario and the Ottawa Folk Festival, as well as playing a New York show in October (her sole U.S. date at the moment).
At the moment, Stars only have two future shows scheduled: an appearance at Lollapalooza in Chicago on August 4 and one at the Austin City Limits festival in Austin, Texas on September 15.
Check out Millan's new video for "Baby I", in which she provides the soundtrack to some sort of Dutch funeral procession:
