White Stripes Set "Simpsons" Date; New Raconteurs Video

Time to talk 2-D. Remember January 19, 2006, when we told you that the White Stripes would one day make their way to Springfield for a guest spot on "The Simpsons"? Well, that day has come. Or is rapidly, approaching, anyway.

According to MTV.com, the White Stripes will finally run with Homer and Marge on September 17. As previously reported, the episode, entitled "Jazzy and the Pussycats", depicts an attempt by Bart to become a jazz drummer. There will be a parody of the Stripes video "The Hardest Button to Button" and a hang out sesh between Meg, Jack, and Bart. Good times!

In other White Stripes news, master poster designer Rob Jones will soon release Aluminium, an album of avant-garde orchestral recordings of White Stripes tracks. The record, limited to 3,333 prints, will be released on October 16, reports NME.com. Jones will appear at the Aluminium Gallery art show in Manchester (Richard Goodall Gallery, July 29 from 12-5pm) to unveil new prints based on the artwork created for and inspired by the record.

In other Jack White news, the Raconteurs have those hands that play instruments. And in their new video for "Hands", the second single from their debut, Broken Boy Soldiers, they also use those hands to communicate to the residents of a school for deaf girls.

Of course, they have to escape from jail first.

And while there's a magician doing tricks throughout, it's still a little unbelievable that the band are able to get the girls dancing to a song they can't even hear. But who knows? Maybe music really is the universal language.
