Hold Steady Announce Fall Tour
Seriously, their new album is really, really good

With all the recent excitement coming from the Pitchfork camp over the new Hold Steady album, Boys and Girls in America, we might have to start to take the band's name seriously as a command to calm down a bit. If only we could.

As previously reported, Boys and Girls is set to come out October 3 on Vagrant Records. Here's what we didn't have for you last time around: the title is a reference to a line from Jack Kerouac's On the Road and the backing vocalists on "Chillout Tent" are Soul Asylum's Dave Pirner and the Reputation's Elizabeth Elmore.

The band also have a sizable tour of North America scheduled, and it kicks off tonight with an acoustic show (plus string and horn section) in NYC's Battery Park. Bring your drinking stomachs though, because according to Boys and Girls producer John Agnello, the Hold Steady can "drink enough margaritas to poison a small Mormon congregation."
