The Elected Launch North American Tour Campaign
The people have spoken!
Rather than spend the coming months at their lakeside log cabin-- stoking the fire, eating turkey, and piecing puzzles together-- or dwelling wherever they dwell and doing whatever they do in L.A. (see video), Blake Sennett and Co. have elected to embark on a fall tour of North America.
Yes, the Sennett-led pop/alt-country band known as the Elected kick off a string of autumnal dates this weekend, in support of its 2006 Sub Pop LP Sun, Sun, Sun. The long jaunt begins in California and zig-zags across the U.S. and parts of Canada, with Margot & the Nuclear So and So's in tow. Besides playing a whole bunch of Universities of California, the Elected will also rock this year's CMJ New Music Marathon, alongside all your Sub Pop favorites: the Shins, the Thermals, CSS, and more .
As previously reported, Sennett's other band Rilo Kiley is in the midst of recording its fourth full-length, said to include the "totally trippy" (in the words of Kiley-mate Jenny Lewis) new tune "Acid Tongue" and a reworked version of live favorite "Pull Me in Tighter".
