Tom Waits to Appear on "Letterman", "Daily Show"

Brawlers, bawlers, and bastards everywhere will come together as television watchers on November 27 and 28, when Tom Waits is slated to appear on both the "Late Show With David Letterman" and "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart", respectively.

According to a press release, Waits will not only perform, but will also "guest" on the shows. We guess that means he'll chat with Dave and Jon. Pretty big news for a guy who seems to only leave his house every few years!

All of this follows the release of his three-disc, 56-track box set Orphans, due via Anti- in the U.S. on November 21 and in Europe the day before.

As previously reported, three tracks have already been unleashed on the Internet: "Bottom of the World", "You Can Never Hold Back Spring", and "Road to Peace". Now, all 18 songs from disc three, Bastards, are streaming as 30-second clips on the Anti- website.

Oh, and don't forget (how could you?) about Scarlett Johansson's forthcoming covers album, Scarlett Sings Tom Waits, tentatively slated for next spring via Rhino offshoot Atco.
