Dead Meadow, Wolfmother, Silversun Pickups Tour

Pass that hookah along and turn your attention toward the computer, because Matador Records psych-rock trio Dead Meadow launch a winter tour of the States tomorrow-- with Wolfmother and Silversun Pickups joining in for a few nights of stoned-out rock action along the way.

Dead Meadow reissued their self-titled, 2000 debut via Xemu Records a short while back, and plan to hit us with a reissue of 2001 sophomore disc Howls in the Hills and a set of Peel Sessions in the near future.

Wolfmother, meanwhile, recently treated their native Australian audience to a single for "Joker & the Thief" (featured in Jackass 2) in seven inch/CD/DVD formats (the latter included footage of the Jackass crew). Its B-sides include a Loving Hand remix of the title track, an acoustic recording of "Vagabond", "Where Eagles Have Been" live at Lollapalooza, and the "Joker & the Thief" video. According to Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com, respectively, the single is due via Universal/Island in the UK on November 20, and in the U.S. November 21.

The band's new moblog (aka a blog published via mobile phone), located at www.JokerandtheThief.com, asks fans and concert attendees to send photos and videos here for a chance to score some swank, Wolfmother-approved goodies. In addition, the pack cleaned up at the 2006 Australian Record Industry Association's ARIA Awards late last month, taking home trophies for Best Breakthrough Album, Best Rock Album, and Best Group.

Both Wolfmother and Silversun Pickups journey beyond the Dead Meadow in the weeks to come.
