Lavender Diamond Record for Matador, Rough Trade
Suspended in the ether by the pristine vocals of Becky Stark, Los Angeles-based folk spiritualists Lavender Diamond are poised to see their star rise in the coming springtime.
The quartet has signed to Rough Trade worldwide, who will treat audiences in the UK, Europe, South America, and Asia to the as-yet-untitled Lavender Diamond sophomore LP-- the first being the Stark solo album, Artifacts of the Winged, released under the LD name in 2003-- this May. Matador Records, meanwhile, will spread the Lavender love Stateside.
What's more, those who haven't heard the four sublime odes on Lavender Diamond's 2005 EP The Cavalry of Light will get a second chance come January 30, when Matador reissues the divine record in remastered format. Rough Trade will do the same in January for denizens of the aforementioned lands.
Regarding the Rough Trade signing, wrote the band on its website, "We are thrilled to pieces with this and could not possibly be happier, it is true love for sure."
LD also took the opportunity to offer some very sound advice as the holiday season comes crashing down upon us: "And love takes time, that's right, so remember- slow down to get to the center! But not too slow- this world needs you! Just take your time, though, you crazy people- take your time! Stop rushing around! Slow down!!"
We'll see how well they take their own advice as the fanbase explodes and the praise just keeps pouring in.
