Exclusive: The Books to Release DVD
The book is always better than the movie

It's no dig on audio collagists and constant tinkerers Paul de Jong and Nick Zammuto of the Books to say that their live show runs like clockwork.

Some bands slop it up onstage, but in the case of the Books, total precision is a necessity. Performing against a backdrop of rapidly-shifting, rhythmically-aligned images, the band's immaculate merging of sight and sound is as impressive a technical feat as it is a multimedia sensory experience.

Evolving from these performances is Playall, a brand new DVD available only at the Books' live shows and on their website. Merging both sound from their records and vision culled from their gigs. Previously unreleased tracks "Classy Penguin" and "8 Frame" will get their own set of pretty pictures on the disc as well.

Those not simply content with the play-at-home version will get a chance to see the Books in the flesh as they embark on an impressive 26-date world tour through April and May before hitting the studio in June to get more Books on tape.
