Beirut Get Crazy in "Elephant Gun" Video Stills
Photos by Kristianna Smith
Some stills from the just-completed, previously mentioned video for Beirut's "Elephant Gun" have crept onto the interweb, and boy do they look...kinky.
If our eyes aren't deceiving us, at least one scene in this video manages to combine a game of dominatrix horsey, bondage, voyeurism/exhibitionism, and creepy mustaches, a praise-worthy feat for any director this side of Fellini.
Indeed, Los Angeles-based filmmaker Alma Harel (Balkan Beat Box,
Giraffes) directed the clip for the Lon Gisland EP's opening track-- and
arguably Beirut's finest moment to date-- while Partizan produced. Maps,
confetti, and choreography also appear to feature prominently in the promo.
Look for it soon on a YouTube near you, and catch Beirut at three NYC dates in
May, then across Europe-- including a recently announced Primavera Sound
appearance-- this summer.
As previously reported, Beirut are fast approaching the final stretch on their sophomore album.
For more photos from the shoot, check out the 4AD blog and Harel's slide show.
