Interpol Expand Tour, Still No Sign of Album

Maybe their tenebrous brand of smudge-rock plays better to European ears. Maybe the all-black look is out of vogue in the U.S. and they're seeking a forward-thinking stylist. Or maybe-- just maybe-- the boys of Interpol want to get their minds right before giving Stateside audiences a full taste of tracks from their very, very, very anticipated third album (still sans title, tracklist or release date).

Whatever the reason, they've expanded their summer tour, but as yet have no plans to take an extended cruise through America. UPDATE: INTERPOL ARE PLAYING A RADIO STATION SHOW IN ATLANTA ON JUNE 2. THE BAD NEWS? CHRIS CORNELL, CAKE, THE BRAVERY, MADINA LAKE, AND PLAIN WHITE T'S ARE ALSO PLAYING.

Still, Euro fest-goers have it good, as Interpol will bring their onstage antics to a good portion of the continent's summertime smorgasbords. Their primary influences are all European, don'tcha know.

As previously reported, Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino is keeping busy with extracurricular activities. Not only has he teamed up with former Swervedriver Adam Franklin for the Setting Suns, but he's putting on a benefit for Callum Robbins April 16 at NYC's Bowery Ballroom. Save that baby, then get yer ass in the mixing booth, Fogarino!
