Bright Eyes, Tilly, Faint Members Help out Coyote Bones
Omaha collective kicks off tour tonight
David Matysiak has assembled quite a crew of friends and fellow Omaha scene fixtures to contribute to the debut album from his Coyote Bones incarnation, Gentleman on the Rocks.
Coyote Bones is constructed around a core of musicians from bands like the Anniversary, Tilly and the Wall, Neva Dinova, Jet by Day, Art in Manila, Flowers Forever, and Little Brazil. However, the full list of performers who contributed to Gentleman includes members of Bright Eyes (no, not Conor), the Faint, Azure Ray, Desaparecidos (again, not Conor), the Good Life, and Now It's Overhead.
Matysiak will inaugurate his own CoCo Art label with the May 5 release of the album, and the second release for the label will be a Coyote Bones/Flowers Forever split 7".
Adding to the collective love-in, Dev Haynes of Test Icicles/Lightspeed Champion appears in the video for "Living Breathing Demons" (along with about a dozen other people), which director Nik Fackler (Bright Eyes, the Faint, the Elected, Azure Ray) shot in one take in Matysiak's basement.
Coyote Bones will hit the road in support of Gentleman starting tonight in Lincoln, Nebraska.
