Lollapalooza, the onetime roadshow colossus that launched a million imitationpaloozas, announced the lineup for its third go as static bandjam in Chicago's Grant Park August 3-5. It is, to say the least, impressive. See:

Admit it, the band you're most excited about is Silverchair. You're going to tell everyone it's Daft Punk, but we know the truth.

Lolla organizers, who recently announced they'd stick it out in Grant Park until at least 2011, have quite a shrewd pair of listen-holes. Of course, you the festgoer will still have to pay $165 for the privilege (or $195, when the "earlybird pricing" falls back), and walk over a mile between stages, and maybe accidentally hear the strains of Slightly Stoopid or Ben Harper.

Still, as U.S. festivals go, Perry's got August in Chicago on lock. July in the Chi, however? We run that shit.
