New Deerhunter Single Available at One Atlanta Store

Foes of the fawn Deerhunter make music difficult enough to pin down on its own. But for their next nugget of recorded material, they won't just up the esoteria quotient in the musical realm, they'll actually make it tricky for you to get the music itself.

The Atlanta punks have just issued the "Whirlyball" 7", which packs exclusive tracks from Deerhunter, the Carbonas, Selmanaires and the Coathangers. No use checking your favorite online vendor or plodding on down to the local disc emporium, though, unless you're from Bankhead. The "WhirlyBall" single is available in person at exactly one place in the world: ATL's Criminal Records.

And not only is the 7" a rare piece of raw rock fury, but an invitation, as the disc serves as a ticket for entry to a June 1 show featuring all four bands at-- get this -- Atlanta's WhirlyBall bumper car track. Oh snap!

In other Deerhunter news, the gents have a date with TV on the Radio and Project Pat (!) tomorrow night, followed by a few more outings this summer and a stop at the craft service table that is the Pitchfork Music Festival's veritable lunch wagon of talent.
