Smashing Pumpkins Extend Residency, Kick Off Tour
UPDATE: Pumpkins live lineup confirmed
Smashing Pumpkins have added three U.S. dates to their spring and summer tour, and yet, all of them are in San Francisco. Other than their appearances at the Virgin, Live Earth, and Osheaga festivals, the previously reported residencies in Asheville and San Francisco remain the only dates at which North American residents can see the band live. Bummer, especially considering that the first single from Zeitgeist (out July 10) is actually kind of good.
Europeans will have more than their fair share of Zeitgeist-y goodness on the Pumpkins' tour, which kicks off tonight in Paris.
UPDATE: For the Paris show, the Pumpkins' live lineup consisted of bassist Ginger Reyes (The Halo Friendlies), guitarist Jeff Schroeder (The Lassie Foundation), and keyboardist Lisa Harriton. So yeah, pretty much what's been rumored for ages now. No word yet whether these folks contribute at all to Zeitgeist.
