The Game Charged With Felonies Due to, Um, Game

For those not tipped off by the weepy bout of separation anxiety, we have a newsflash: this "The Game" guy might not be so stable. According to a Billboard.com report, the 27-year-old rapper known to his mother as Jayceon Taylor was charged yesterday (June 4) with making a criminal threat, possessing a firearm in a school zone, and exhibiting a firearm in the presence of an officer.

The district attorney's office in Los Angeles, where Taylor was charged, said the first two charges are the result of a fight that broke out during a game of pickup basketball on February 24 in South L.A. The police said the rapper punched a player on the opposing team, went to his red Cadillac Escalade to pull out a gun, and came back threatening to shoot the other player.

Taylor was arrested May 11 at his house in Glendale, California by police carrying a search warrant and was later released on $50,000 bail, according to Billboard.com.

Taylor's arraignment on all three felony charges is scheduled to take place today in Los Angeles. If convicted, he could face more than five years in a state penitentiary.
