Art Brut Ready "Direct Hit" Single, Add Fest Dates
Nearly a year after they tore through a nascent jam called "Direct Hit" at the 2006 Pitchfork Music Festival, Art Brut will finally make a recorded version of the song available for their UK fans' purchasing/downloading pleasure (since you've all already streamed it with great pleasure).
"Direct Hit" features on Art Brut's sophomore set It's a Bit Complicated, as you know, which arrives June 26 on Mute or Downtown Records, depending on your geography.
The "Direct Hit" single, meanwhile, lands June 18 in the UK in three fetching formats: CD, 7", and digital download. Each includes different B-sides, with the digital version boasting an alternate cut of "Direct Hit" with Eddie Argos dueting with Hank Starrs (ex-Animals That Swim). Eager beavers can buy a standalone download of "Direct Hit" beginning June 11.
Art Brut are presently cruising Europe, and have tacked on a bunch of festival dates in exotic-sounding, accent mark-addled locales since our last report.
