The White Stripes Tour With Cold War Kids
In the spirit of glasnost, the White Stripes offer this: Fullerton, California's Cold War Kids will open many of the fall dates the daring Detroit duo recently rescheduled. The Reagan babies will join up with the former marrieds for a number of September/October dates, though not, curiously, in Alaska; seems like as fine a place as any to fight a war on cold, doesn't it?
As you'll recall, Nick Cave's family-friendly Grinderman and country-and-western legend Porter Wagoner will warm up the crowd at the Stripes' Madison Square Garden show. All this in celebration of Icky Thump, the Whites' sixth album, due in the U.S. June 19 on Third Man/Warner Bros. and the day before in the UK from Third Man/XL.
