Jana Hunter Has Dates With Deacon, Jansch, Rasputina
Most muggy summer days, it's hard to imagine what true productivity feels like. So it's an envious gaze we cast at mistress of the multitask, Jana Hunter. When she's not beguiling audiences with her signature take on folk-- as showcased on this year's excellent There's No Home-- Jana's sharing bills with fellow indie luminaries, kicking it with the biggest corset cello rock combo on the planet, or just making art for the world to see.
In addition to a bunch of tour dates by her lonesome, Jana will precede My Brightest Diamond as a slightly skewed opener for Rasputina. She also plays a gig with Bert Jansch tonight and crosses paths with Dan Deacon and Pink Nasty over the course of her travels.
Additionally, some of Jana's art and/or literature will pop up in the second installment of the Penny-Ante compendium, and she partook of Matteah Baim's Death of the Sun, due out next week.
