Jay Reatard Brings Blood Visions On Tour
What's to be done with this Jay Reatard character? The assuredly hyper-prolific, presumably hyper-active rock revivalist and Blood Vision-ary has cast an ever-growing shadow over many a computer screen and club stage in recent years. But what do we really know about Jay Reatard? Is that his real name? Is that real blood? Can all those snappy, whip-smart punk tunes really be the work of a solitary dude? Should he be trusted?
Here's the skinny on Reatard: he's got a bunch of breakneck rock'n'roll records out. He's a huge fan of the Netherlands, judging by his present tour itinerary. He digs Deerhunter and the Ponys (hey, just like you and me!). And he's comin' at you, provided you hail from the top two-thirds of the North American continent. Reatard will make this barnstorming thing look easy for a couple weeks in late July, between crafting a couple hundred more seven-inches and drilling his hooks directly into my skull.
