Caribou, Luomo, Brinkmann Add to Free Ringtone Site In the wilds of this past winter, we told you of Toneshared, a website offering free ringtones designed by some of electronic music's upper crust. But it's summer now, and without that heavy coat separating your hip from your Crackberry-- and ever since daddy chewed you out for racking up a couple grand on all those Justin Timberlake ringbacks-- you're sticking close to vibrate.

Lucky you, there's no need to suffer in silence; Toneshared is still here, still free, and, now, expanding to include some of the finest twinkle-makers the world over. Caribou, Vladislav Delay/Luomo, Telefon Tel Aviv, Thomas Brinkmann, Pole, Triosk, Richard Devine, Amp, Leafcutter John, Outputmessage, Pan American, Vert, and plenty of others join the already alluring ranks of Benoit Pioulard, Keith Fullerton Whitman, Loscil, KK Null, and Jason Forrest.

And, yes, we're aware that the idea of an ambient ringtone is a bit self-defeating; but not all of the Toneshared tracks fade quite so easily into the middle distance. Thomas Brinkmann's "Birthday" (a screwed'n'chopped recording of a Germanic male saying "happy birthday to you") is worthy of mention, as is Caribou's twinkly, curiously form-fitting contribution.
