Spoon, Modest Mouse, M.I.A., Built to Spill, and M. Ward are among the artists who will descend on San Francisco's Treasure Island this year for the very first Treasure Island Music Festival, taking place September 15 and 16. Yes, Treasure Island is a real place in the middle of the San Francisco Bay, not just a magical land in fairy tales.

The picturesque location will also host sets by DJ Shadow and Cut Chemist, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Thievery Corporation, Zion I, and Earlimart, as well as plenty of local bands.

Organized by the folks behind the Noise Pop Festival and Berkeley-based production company Another Planet Entertainment, Treasure Island fest will also feature exhibits by local artists and designers and educational information about greening initiatives and conservation efforts.
