M. Ward Postpones Boston Pops Gigs Until 2008
Curse you, "unforeseen circumstances!" You've been the scourge of many an artistic endeavor, and now, you've claimed M. Ward and the Boston Pops as your latest victims.
Due to a situation no one could've predicted (the details of which remain unclear), Ward's two-night run with the orchestra has been postponed until next year. So no M., no Pops, no onstage collaboration with the lovely and talented Zooey Deschanel. Aw, man, no Zooey?! Now you've done it, this time it's personal, I'll be back, etc.
Instead of M. Ward, the Boston Pops will be performing with Hem on June 26 and 27.
Lucky for us, ain't no circumstance we can foresee that'll put off the rest of Ward's wayfaring. He's currently out with gentle jazzbo giant Norah Jones; afterwards he'll spend a few months in Europe and appear at San Fran's freshly-reported Treasure Island Festival. Ward's also gearing up for a re-release of his out of print 1999 LP, Duet for Guitars #2, via Merge July 10.
