Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem to Play Red Rocks
Oh. Em. Eff. Gee. In what's sure to be described by less family-oriented publications as something unfortunate to do with a music writer and his trousers, the Arcade Fire and LCD Soundsystem will be linking up for a show at Morrison, Colorodo's famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre September 17. (Hey... that's just two days after the Monolith Festival.)
Not content to simply share a number of festival dates, the Red Rocks gig seems to just be Jimmy Jam and the Butler fam, keeping the car running and watching the tapes and so forth. Could an unofficial best-of-the-Best New Music tour be in the works? Hard to say-- we do know a fall tour is on the bubble for Arcade Fire. All we know from Camp Murphy is this: whatever he does gon' be funky.
In other Arcade Fire news, they've got singles for both "Intervention" and "No Cars Go" on the way, as well as their own torrent of tour dates stretching well into the fall. As for James, well, he's got his own plans, which probably involve a lot of smirking and the hitting of cowbells.
