Shocking Pinks Sign to DFA

Gets remixed by Deerhunter, Eluvium, the Glimmers
Shocking Pinks Sign to DFA As the drummer in the Brunettes (who will release their Sub Pop debut, Structure & Cosmetics, on August 7), New Zealander Nick Harte is already a busy man. UPDATE: HARTE IS NO LONGER IN THE BRUNETTES. But he has further stuffed his schedule by signing to DFA/Astralwerks for a forthcoming release from his solo project, Shocking Pinks.

On September 25, the label(s) will release the self-titled Shocking Pinks, a compilation of remastered tunes from Shocking Pinks' two 2005 albums for NZ label Flying Nun, both of which were follow-ups to SP's debut, Dance the Dance Electric.

Thus, the purpose of Shocking Pinks is to reintroduce Harte's solo wanderings to the world, a project he and DFA/Astralwerks will continue with forthcoming remixes by artists like Deerhunter, the Glimmers, Arkitype, and Eluvium.
