Band of Horses Wrap Second Album
RECORD IS DONE!!!
That's right folks. That little bastard's in the can and soon will be set free on the Sub Pop record label. We're looking at doing that sometime in October if CD's and Records still exsist in 4 months. And although this is a spoken word record with no musical accompaniment, we believe you'll be happy after 100 listens or so. Xoboh
We at Pitchfork have yet to determine whether or not we hope they're serious about the whole spoken-word thing.
According to a recent chat NME had with frontman Ben Bridwell, producer Phil Ek (who helmed Everything All the Time as well) has apparently been calling the new album "a southeast record," as opposed to the last one, a "northwest record." You could learn something from these fellas, Sufjan: there's only like eight regions to cover.
Bridwell also told NME that the album will include songs titled "Ode to the LRC", "No One's Gonna Love You", and "Window Blues".
In other, crappier BoH news, that show they were going to do at Coney Island's Keyspan Park with Clipse and Modest Mouse seems to be off. The date has disappeared from the BoH, Modest Mouse and Ticketmaster websites, and Modest Mouse appear to be playing Brooklyn's McCarren Park Pool September 8 with Love as Laughter instead. No word as to whether Band of Horses-- who've got plenty of other dates with Modest Mouse this summer-- will join that bill, but, hey, they're done with their record, what the hell else are they gonna do?
UPDATE: Apparently Clipse are playing the Philly Modest Mouse / Band of Horses date!
