Les Savy Fav Reveal New Album Details!
Making good on a nearly year-old promise, Les Savy Fav have announced the title and release date of their forthcoming totally real and brand spanking new record. Due out September 18 via Frenchkiss, the album is called Let's Stay Friends, and you can hear its second track-- "The Equestrian"-- if you revisit that Adult Swim compilation we mentioned a couple months ago.
Friends' tracklist is below, and it does indeed feature one of the previously reported songs with literally phoned-in fan vocal contributions. Originally titled "Resent the Rent", it appears on the album as "Scotchguard the Credit Card". Devendra Banhart also contributed vocals via phone, and the record's other guests include Enon, Eleanor Friedberger (Fiery Furnaces), Nick Thorburn (Islands), Emily Haines (Metric), Joe Plummer (Black Heart Procession), and Fred Armisen. UPDATE: Devendra does not appear on the album.
The Fav remain tourless at the moment, but they do have a single live appearance scheduled for this weekend in New York City at the Citysol festival. UPDATE: The band has scheduled two NYC record release shows for September 21 and 22 at the brand new Music Hall of Williamsburg and the Bowery Ballroom, respectively.
