Taken by Trees Take Open Field to U.S. in September
Open Field, the debut LP from from recently-uprooted ex-Concretes singer Victoria Bergsman's solo project Taken by Trees, will find its way into U.S. stores September 11 thanks to Beggars Group. The disc-- already available in the UK from Rough Trade-- was co-produced by Vic and Bjorn Yttling of Peter him and John, and features musical contributions from Yttling, PBJ's John Eriksson, Electrelane's Verity Sussman, and Andreas Soderstrom. Our Marc Hogan called the disc "Pink Moon on a 'Be My Baby' scale," which sounds both incongruous and amazing. So sit tight, U.S., and you'll get your shot.
Victoria has a few shows plotted for September in her native Sweden. Her website claims "there won't be many, but here are some," and, indeed, there aren't many, but they're all there (along with a tracklist to Open Field) after the jump.
Open Field:
01 Tell Me
02 Julia
03 The Legend
04 Sunshine Lady
05 Lost and Found
06 Open Field
07 Hours Pass Like Centuries
08 Too Young
09 Only Yesterday
10 Cedar Trees
Trees:
09-13 Gothenburg, Sweden – Stenhammarsalen
09-14 Malmö, Sweden – Inkonst Teatern
09-16 Stockholm, Sweden – Södra Teatern
