Old Time Relijun, C.O.C.O. Prep New Discs on K, Tour

If the stodginess of certain recent indie rock trends has you yearning for something just a wee bit more outré, K Records to the rescue once again! The Calvin Johnson-spawned imprint has a pair of tasty releases a-brewin' for the latter months of '07, sure to scare off your annoying dorm-mate who insists he's all indie 'n shit.

First up, a bumpin' new helping of beats and sass from the Olympia kids behind C.O.C.O. Olivia Ness and Chris Sutton return September 11 with C.O.C.O. Play Drums + Bass, their third full length offering. It's the follow-up to 2002's The C.O.C.O. Sound, and to be fair, your dorm-mate might actually dig it.

Next we have another clangorous platter from the Beefhearted crew that comprises Old Time Relijun. Catharsis in Crisis compiles fourteen crucially cathartic cuts and hits record shops like a double bass smashed over your head on October 9. To celebrate, captain Arrington de Dionyso and his trusty shipmates will take to the high seasroad beginning tomorrow night (July 20) in Seattle. Along the way they'll join many of their K brethren at the What the Heck Fest, going down this weekend.

Before the Crisis and the Drums + Bass, however, K delivers the previously reported latest opus from Mirah, Share This Place: Stories and Observations, on August 7.
