Grizzly Bear Announce August, September Dates

In my discussion with GZA at the Pitchfork Music Festival regarding the great silverback gorilla vs. grizzly bear debate, we agreed that the silverback would emerge the victor (it's tough to disagree with a member of the Wu-Tang Clan).

There was, however, one thing we didn't consider. What if, instead of a mere grizzly bear, the silverback's opponent were none other than Pitchfork Festival alumni Grizzly Bear? If that were the case, the Brooklyn-based quartet could lull the big ape to sleep with their cathedral-ready voices and that sweet processed clarinet and then defeat the beast in its slumber with their acute ability to color-coordinate (check out that matching plaid!).

But even the most savage of competitors need love, so Grizzly Bear have scheduled a North American tour for September. After their previously reported appearance at the 826NYC benefit next month, as well as a gig in Brooklyn with Feist and Kevin Drew, they'll get all the love they can from Yellow House fans in the northern part of our fair continent. Maybe then all this fighting can finally come to an end.
