Travis Morrison Treats All Y'all to Another LP
So, some people I know weren't too keen on the last Travis Morrison solo disc. But rather than slump his shoulders and crawl into the corner to sulk about it, the former Dismemberment Plan principal simply called for reinforcements and recorded a whole new bag of tunes.
Enter the Hellfighters, who join Morrison on All Y'all, out August 21 on Barsuk. The follow-up of sorts to 2004 travesty Travistan, All Y'all collects 11 freshly-minted jams recorded with D-Planner Jason Caddell; the LP is technically credited to Travis Morrison Hellfighters. In addition to Morrison himself, the Hellfighters include David Brown, Brandon Kalber, Vince Magno, and Thomas Orgren.
And get this: Travis is apparently so ecstatic about the new songs that he just can't contain himself. Dude's already streaming 'em-- all of 'em-- on his website. Or take Y'all cut "As We Proceed" home with you in mp3 format now, courtesy of Barsuk (link below).
Morrison has a pair of DC hometown shows lined up in the next few months. However, those holding out hope for a full-fledged Dismemberment Plan reunion-- in light of April's double-scoop of Callum Robbins benefit gigs-- shouldn't hold their breath. As Travis wrote on his website, "I don't think the Plan is getting back together, except to drink beer, but being able to play those [benefit] shows and have it turn out the way it did made me think that maybe I have done something with my life after all."
All Y'all:
01 I'm Not Supposed to Like You (But)
02 As We Proceed
03 Catch Up
04 East Side of the River
05 I Do
06 Just Didn't Turn Me On

08 Hawkins' Rock
09 Churchgoer

11 Saturday Night
