Peter Hook vs. New Order: The Fight Continues

Peter Hook is pissed off. With all the push-and-pull going on in Camp New Order these days, the former Joy Divison/New Order bassist and current MySpace user doesn't care for all this chatter from fellow founders Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris about the continued existence of the pioneering synth-pop band.

Though Hook has repeatedly claimed that New Order is kaput, Sumner and Morris recently went to the press expressing their disappointment in Hook's lack of involvement with what appears to be their apparent aim: New Order 4 life.

Hook recently struck back on his MySpace blog (so hip!), claiming again that "this group has SPLIT UP!" and adding that Sumner and Morris shouldn't presume they "have the rights to do anything NEW ordery," as Hook has "still got a third." He then claims to be "open to negotiation," but, after a few more sternly-worded details of the icy state of the band's recent communications, ends with this kiss-off: "See you in court! love hookyx"

Well, that's all wrapped up neat and tidy-like then, eh? Expect to hear more from both sides about this for some time. Should you care to show your solidarity with his cause or perhaps chuck a tomato or two his way, Hook's got a couple Scottish DJ dates on the way.
