Blonde Redhead Open for Interpol
When they're not making records or making horror flicks, Interpol are making sure to stay current. Back in July, Sam Fogarino pegged Blonde Redhead as one of his "top 5 bands of the moment" on the band's MySpace blog, along with Deerhunter, Grinderman, Battles, and Neil Young (one of these things is not like the other, eh?).
Blonde Redhead must've taken to the buttering up, as they'll assume the task of opening for Interpol on the band's previously-reported late fall/early winter European dates. (That trek follows Interpol's North American stint with Liars.)
Apparently, last night in Newcastle, England, Carlos D was hospitalized for an unspecified reason, and the band had to cancel their show at the Newcastle Academy. But all appears to be well now, and the band is set to play at the Corn Exchange in Edinburgh tonight. (Thanks to Jono Henderson for the info.)
UPDATE: Blonde Redhead have been added to the monster lineup for that October 6 show at Randall's Island in NYC with Arcade Fire, LCD Soundsystem, and Les Savy Fav.
Full dates for both bands after the jump.
