Pitchfork: PJ Harvey Plans a U.S. Visit

As Polly Jean Harvey (looking a bit Susan B. Anthony over there) prepares to trace the competition in a White Chalk outline, her American fans now have one more reason to rejoice.

The no-nonsense rocker (who trades the rock for the gossamer on her new disc, out September 25 Stateside via Island, and the day before UK-ways) has announced a pair of solo U.S. shows in mid-October. And the lucky two American cities? No surprise here: New York and L.A.

The gig announcement press release also includes the dreaded "No other U.S. dates are planned at present," but here's hoping anyway.

White Chalk's previously reported first single, "When Under Ether", anesthetizes the UK populace on September 17.
