Photos: White Williams Tour Diary Part 1
Girl Talk, Dan Deacon, and White Williams on the road together: two weeks of utter and complete chaos, right? Sure, but that's only the half of it. Here to shed a little light on the rest, with the help of his trusty camera, is Mr. White Williams himself.
Williams has kept a keen eye on the misadventures of his posse since their tour kicked off in Toronto last week. Today Pitchfork presents the first in a series of White Williams photo tour diary entries; this one spans the initial five days of these party-starters' joint jaunt. Turns out all those hours between raves leave plenty of time to delight in the mundane.
The captions that follow each photo come courtesy of Williams, whose previously reported debut LP, Smoke, drops November 6 via Tigerbeat6. Stay tuned for the next photo installment later this week.
Meanwhile, the latest GT/DD/WW orgy goes down tonight on Deacon's home turf of Baltimore.
Day 1: Toronto, September 12, 2007
Here we are at a truck stop. Our Driver John wants to show us something funny.
Hayes checks the rear view mirror for orbs.
Hayes and Joe are approaching the border with excited smiles.
Here are our passports. Hayes' passport has an RFID chip inside of it.
Celebrating our penetration of Canada.
Here is some fake money. Our bass player makes fake coins and fake credit cards as art.
Day 2: Montreal, September 13, 2007
Left: Andrew and Joe snuck off to Andrew's cousin's house in Toronto. Here is Andrew enjoying a healthy breakfast. Bananas, pears, tarts, bread, and mineral water. They were missing their real cameras so they used their cell phones.
Right: Andrew waiting to perform visuals. Andrew creates all of the art for the White Williams project. He is taking care of all of the tour visuals.
Andrew's cousin had a great art collection. Here is Joe standing with a lithograph made by Roy Lichtenstein.
This is Numbers playing an awesome set. The keyboard player is playing an Octave Cat which seems to be a replica of one of the Arp synthesizers.
Dan Deacon lighting up a human fire while he performs.
Dan performing in a pleasurable human soup.
Day 3: Boston, September 14, 2007
This came from the overnight drive from Montreal to Boston.
Here is Joe sleeping in the car on Andrew's dirty pillow.
We arrived at a park in Boston to continue our sleep. Everyone slept outside. Here is Hayes napping near a tree.
John is napping.
Hayes found a more ideal sleeping arrangement.
John drinks something special.
Day 4: New York City, September 15, 2007
Left: Our proud president FDR. This painting was one of the many possessed decorations at Webster Hall in Manhattan.
Right: Dan promoting positive energy.
Webster hall had plenty of odd decorative elements for a photo diary.
Haunted Marble at Webster Hall.
Another painting at Webster Hall. We took several photos of it and it looked different each time. This was our favorite pose.
Because we had to play two shows with a tight schedule, we missed out on this connecting limo ride from Webster Hall to the Bowery Ballroom. Left to Right: Fiber Simmetry (Frank's Brother), Heather, Shawn Lovejoy, Kendal, Gregg [Gillis, aka Girl Talk]. Gregg uses his glad plastic wrap to protect it from sweat and disease.
Day 5: Brooklyn, September 16, 2007
Our bass player Tyler is a breadmaker. He baked us this delicious bread on our day of rest. We spent the day hanging out in his backyard garden.
This is Tyler's dog Moxy.
Here is Andrew and Joe relaxing in Tyler's garden in Greenpoint.

A view of the sky through Tyler's tomatoes.
Time to rest and go to Philadelphia for another rowdy night.
