Photos: White Williams Tour Diary Part 3
Welcome to the fourth installment of the Girl Talk/Dan Deacon/White Williams tour diary, which has been extensively photojournaled by Mr. Williams himself. We're getting to the homestretch here, following our heroes around the great American west, from Houston and Austin to L.A. and San Diego, with a lot of desert in between. Once again, your guide for the journey is Joe (are we supposed to call him White?) himself, whose comments accompany each photo. Be sure to check below to see what roads the three will take when they part ways (after just one more show together!).
DAY 13: Houston, September 24, 2007
Tyler and Joe brushing their teeth upon arriving at the venue.
We're teaching Andrew how to exercise regularly.
Joe carefully balances two Ws in his gentle hands.
DAY 14: Austin, September 25, 2007
In Austin we played a refreshing outdoor show. We really enjoyed the layout of the venue-- and projected on the plants.
We stayed with a friend of Tyler's. They own dogs that run up trees and climb them.
Hayes' boots are perfect for latching on to the swings.
DAY 15: Driving Through the Desert, September 26, 2007
In anticipation of the desert we caught this beautiful mountain on the road. The "V" on it remains a mystery.
Andrew finally finds somebody that he can relate to on the tour-- his name was Sheriff Hoggy Hogsworthy.
Hayes can relate to these three painted clay coyotes.
After a few hours of driving the passengers in the van become restless and hunger-stricken. Enter Mr. Hamburger.
In a fit of jealousy Andrew imitates Mr. Hamburger.
We're not sure what Tyler was doing here but we think he was trying to hide something.
Cigarettes and bugs. It was hard to avoid bugs.
We found this structure of concrete slabs out in the middle of the desert. Upon climbing around them we heard gunshots in the distance.
DAY 16: San Diego, September 27, 2007
We found out that Hayes was Mr. Burger all along.
We were overwhelmed by the breathtaking landscapes on the road.
He insisted on drawing us, we insisted on drawing him.
We wonder if Gregg is taking care of his health.
DAY 17: Los Angeles, September 28, 2007
Hayes is addicted to cactus at this point.
We knew all along that Joe was a vampire, here demonstrated by his bathroom etiquette.
Mr. Burger is making the rounds. Here he is sluttin' it up with the band Tribal Tats.
A disco ball accompanied the visuals in L.A.-- setting a nostalgic tone for the evening.
We haven't seen any more orbs recently, but this blow up doll did make a guest appearance getting tossed around in the pit.
