The Kills Return With a Boom on New LP
Band works with Armani XXXchange on album's production
Grimy little duo the Kills have returned from the garage rock ether to deliver their third album, Midnight Boom, due March 18 via Domino Records.
Partially inspired by the playground songs in a documentary about inner-city school children in the 1960s called Pizza Pizza Daddio, the follow-up to 2005's No Wow hews close to the guitar'n'beats sound found on previous Kills records. This time, however, they had a little help in the beats department, as Spank Rock producer Armani XXXchange lent his hand to some of the production.
The Kills plan to tour the U.S. in support of Midnight Boom; for now they have only a handful of dates, beginning tomorrow night (January 15) at London's Soho Revue Bar.
Midnight Boom:
01 U.R.A. Fever
02 Cheap and Cheerful
03 Tape Song
04 Getting Down
05 Last Day of Magic
06 Hook and Line
07 Black Balloon
08 M.E.X.I.C.O.C.U.
09 Sour Cherry
10 Alphabet Pony
11 What New York Used to Be
12 Goodnight Bad Morning
Touring Kills:
01-15 London, England - Soho Revue Bar
02-07 Tokyo, Japan - Yellow
02-11 New York, NY - Nylon Party (invite only)
02-14 San Francisco, CA - Popscene
